Community Experiences

I tried several times rewriting this to keep it short and sweet, but it has proven to be impossible! To say I highly recommend Heather and Chad as the best dog trainers in St. Pete wouldn’t even do justice to the impact they have had on my life with my dogs. I had been to two different trainers with my first German Shepherd and wanted to start out on the right path when I got my second shepherd. After months of researching dog trainers in the Tampa Bay Area before I even got my second puppy, I kept coming back to Everyday K9’s Facebook page. It appeared to be exactly what I was looking for-a balanced training program that also emphasized on training the handlers, not just the dogs. Plus it always looked like everyone was having fun! I am happy to report a year into joining their community that the EK9 community is exactly what you see on their social media 🤣 ❤️ I have learned countless invaluable skills and lessons from Heather and Chad that have given me the confidence to navigate any real-world situation by myself with my two shepherds. I have also gained so many new friends through their community that I honestly look forward to going to classes every week! I have had friends and even acquaintances I haven’t spoken to in years reach out to me telling me they wished they had a training community like EK9 where they live! It truly is such a unique and special training community that I am so thankful so be a part of. I have witnessed my own dogs overcome separation anxiety, navigate some leash reactivity, and learn to exercise a calm mind-muscle in otherwise exciting/nerve-wracking situations (not an easy feat for drivey working dogs!). It is such an incredible feeling when someone compliments your dogs’ well-behaved manners, and I am so appreciative of EK9 for playing such a major role in that. Whether you are struggling with dog behavior issues, got a new puppy, or are just looking to learn to provide a more enjoyable lifestyle for you and your dog, you will not regret reaching out to Everyday K9 ❤️

Two Paws
This class has changed my life forever. I have had several people ask if that is the same dog after just a few classes. What a great loving community they have built for the canine family. Not to mention the great friends I have made as well.

Katara
Everyday K9 was my last resort before looking into finding my Shepherd/Husky mix Katara a new home. Two and a half years ago, Katara could not be handled on walks by my 63-year-old mom without being knocked over, and in the house her mannerisms led to hundreds of dollars of damage. At the veterinary office, she showed signs of aggression and could not be handled by anyone other than me without heavy sedation. I tried everything from the Easy Walk harness to the Gentle Leader, and nothing changed her anxious, hyper behavior. Now, Katara is a new dog. Everyday K9 training targets the behaviors causing problems in the household by helping humans instill a calm muscle memory in our dog that we can then learn to apply everywhere. The best thing about Everyday K9 is the family that forms between all the clients-we’re all there to learn and make our communication between ourselves and our pets more effective. It becomes a community, one that supports one another. Training with Everyday K9 has not only changed Katara to the point that my mom now enjoys walking her, but it’s also made me a better human and dog mom, too!

Riley
Wish I could give 10/5 stars! My 3 y/o reactive cattle dog Riley and I started seeing Heather over the last year and our time with Everyday K9 has been nothing less than life-changing. My pup obviously had reactivity issues with dogs along with pulling on the leash when walking, and some issues I didn’t even know existed at the time like separation anxiety from me. She helped us build a solid new foundation, so we could conquer our issues together. And I mean TOGETHER. She is 100% invested in seeing you and your dog succeed and will always go out of her way to help as much as she can. I trust her fully with my dog, more than anyone else as she genuinely cares about your dog and treats them as if it was her own. The Everyday K9 community has been so beneficial for not only my dog but me. It’s a group of people you can look to and trust, and we’re all there at the end of the day for the same goal to have a better-behaved dog. Our pack walks on Wednesdays really strengthen our bond between all people and dogs. I now have a dog that can walk perfectly loose leash beside me. She can sit relaxed and calmly when going out and she has even made a couple of dog friends. I never thought I would see the day of any of these accomplishments and I contribute it all and the growth and success of my dog and myself as a pet parents to Heather and her team at Everyday K9. They have truly changed my life and I could not be more grateful for them.

Noel
I found Everyday K9 training while frantically searching for trainers in the Tampa Bay Area that specialize in canine anxiety. I had been through 3 other trainers trying to find a way to help my 8 month old rescue, Noel, cope with severe fear and anxiety. I was at the point where I felt like we had tried everything and our vet even recommended I put Noel on anxiety medication. I felt hopeless – I could barely walk Noel down our quiet street without her freezing in fear from some unknown stressor. I wanted a better life for my dog!
Then enters Heather and Chad, and they have literally changed our lives. We have been working with Everyday K9 for 8 months and Noel is a different dog from Day 1. She is becoming more confident by the day and is building coping skills and a “calm muscle” for dealing with the inevitable stressors of the world. Also, more importantly, I am learning how to confidently get her through moments of panic and to be the leader she needs. Our vet has noticed the massive changes in Noel’s behavior and has cut her anxiety medication dose in half, and we are on our way to getting her off them completely!
I am so grateful to have found Everyday K9. We have gone from Day 1 of class: me needing to carry Noel across the park because she was too scared to walk through a quiet community park to get to class to now conquering walks in Downtown St Pete and Home Depot. Our vet visits have even changed from Noel cowering and hiding under my chair to her taking a nap while we wait! I owe everything to Heather and Chad’s guidance, patience and caring!

We are big fans of Everyday K9 Training!!! Heather and Chad are a Great Team and have helped our fearful dog tremendously! They are experienced, reliable, and professional. Consistently going the extra mile and are fully committed to helping dogs and their owners live their best lives.
They offer one on one training but have also created a community of like-minded people that meet regularly for group training classes and pack walks in the community, building on the skills they learn in class.
Heather is firm and effective. The dogs, (all of them) adore her! Our dog will get excited if she just hears her voice!
We highly recommend Everday K9 Training to all our friends and family.
Heather even organizes pictures with Santa during the holiday season!!!

Heather and Chad are top notch trainers. With their help, we’re building a calm dog from a wild rescue puppy, who now walks reliably and under control, off and on leash. They taught us to slow down, not micromanage and how to avoid the mistakes we made with our first dog that kept him from being able to go everywhere with us. Even in a group setting, Heather and Chad provide personal instruction to help address any issues you and your dog may be struggling with. Highly recommend!

Teddy, Lexie, Lizzie
Training a dog obedience is easy. Heather and Chad do so much more than that. Luckily I stumbled upon a Saturday morning class 2 years ago with my new 12 week old Potcake puppy, Teddy. We sat on a bench and watched class. I was impressed with how calm all the dogs were and wanted to become a part of this! After Teddy was done his final puppy shots, we joined in classes. We learned this was all about our relationship. Heather taught us the place command that would be the foundation for our lives together. This was new for us as our last dog went to a board and train school that left us without training.
Heather teaches us how to work with our dogs in real-life situations. I have learned so much about myself and dogs in general. Teddy was born on the streets of the Bahamas, so we struggle with food aggression and outbursts. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we know Heather is always there to help us out. She has taught me to look at myself and to stay strong. Heather and Chad put their heart and soul into each and every dog and owner. I am very thankful to have them in my life.

Kingsley
I am so grateful for Heather from Everyday K9. She showed us how to work with our Doberman, Kingsley. Her guidance has been a game changer. Kingsley was so anxious and reactive that taking him for a walk was completely nerve wrecking. Since we learned what he needs from us he is a different dog. He is so much calmer. Finding someone like Heather who is so passionate about improving the relationships that owners have with their dogs is a true blessing.
Thank you, Heather!!!

Cameron
Heather and Chad at everydayk9 training are awesome. They meet you on your level of training and are so patient with you and your abilities. My previous dog was my heart ❤️. Rocky was a pitty and the sweetest. He was dog aggressive and so I made sure that I kept him safe because he never left our house or the back yard. Occasionally I would take him for a walk but my anxiety was so high because I was afraid of seeing another dog. So I avoided that situation. After he passed away we rescued a Siberian husky who has tons of energy and I wanted to take him on walks or runs or even take him on our camping trips. When I started with Heather my anxiety was so high due to all the dogs that were around at the classes but Heather talked with me and told me she understood and helped me build my confidence. As my confidence grew ,my husky , Cameron’s confidence grew in me. We are enjoying camping ,walks ,bike riding. I love taking him everywhere we go. Heather told me that we have the dog we need at the time that we need them. And we learn from each dog that we have. I believe that to be true as well as the people that come into your life. I love that I meet heather when I met her. She offers classes and pack walks which are both beneficial to a complete calm dog. She also is only a text message away. Thank you heather for changing my life and relationship with my dog 🐶

Cleo
Heather and Chad are absolutely the best. They helped us and our dog with the all the issues we were struggling with. They helped educate and train us to be able to communicate and build a stronger bond with our dog. Not just me, but the whole family. Cleo is a happier, calmer dog because of everyday K9. We can not recommend them enough.

Heather is awesome! She’s great at helping you and your dog be able to be calm. Her training style is two parts behavioral training, one part obedience, and a total person partnership. I love working with Heather and the Everyday K9 community!Liz Churchville
Alieana
AMAZING trainers!!!!
My little Alieana is transforming right before my eyes. They have helped her in starting to learn that there’s no reason to be afraid of the world. I’m eternally grateful and thankful for everything they are teaching me (& her) to have a happy and fulfilling life.

Mattie
Heather Tyack at Everyday K-9 is a dog whisperer in her own right. Very impressed with her abilities as well as her upbeat attitude. She had my playfully rambunctious Jack Russell, Mattie, listening to new commands in minutes. I will be joining in on the dog walk training in the near future. But I highly recommend her for any needs you may have. Whether your dog is unruly or just anxious, she really can help! Best part, she helps you to correct bad behaviors as well, so that you and your pup can have a happy, healthy journey together. Great job, Heather!

Heather is a terrific dog trainer and has a heart big enough for all the people she trains to be better dog owners.

Chloe & Carmel
Heather and Chad are life changers for our family. We have a very hyper weimaraner mix and a chipit. Our Chloe is very protective of our home and constantly jumped our fence scaring neighbors. We have worked with Heather for almost a year and her consistentcy and patience is incredible. She has taught us the tools to have a very well behaved girl! No more fence jumping!!! The organized walks are fun too!

Everyday K9 has been the biggest blessing! My dog has been with them since he was 11 weeks and now he’s almost 4 y/o. I never have to worry when my dog is in their hands. I’ve also learned SO much on how to handle everyday situations and my dog. I HIGHLY recommend this company!

Penny
Heather and Chad are amazing trainers! They excel in teaching how to calm anxious and aggressive dogs and how to build confidence in your dog. I had never even thought about a dog needing confidence! What they teach works. If you are considering training for your dog, do yourself a favor and contact Everyday K9.
I was beside myself as the dog I had recently adopted had bitten a couple of people. I did not think I could keep her due to her biting. I took her to a well-known, nationwide training program. The trainer said she may never be able to meet another dog and to watch out with people too. This broke my heart.
I am so grateful to have found Everyday K9. I will always fondly remember our first class. My girl, Penny, is growing and changing thanks to Everyday K9. It is amazing to watch a terrified, anxious, aggressive little doggo calm down, gain confidence & move through the world in a whole new way!
Besides the fabulous training, they have built a wonderful community. We have so much fun and enjoy spending time with each other and our dogs. My favorites are the pack walks and community events. I also love watching the progress teams make together!
I am so grateful to be a part of this community. Heather & Chad are very passionate about their work and are hands down the best! I will always sing their praises!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!! We cannot imagine life without you in it, so thankful!! ❤️
